Overview: Bones bearings have been leading the way for as long as I can remember. After my very first set of bearings wore thin (nachi’s), I saved that little bit extra to get into those coveted reds. I haven’t looked back. I like that bones never bought into the abec rating jargon.

From the beginning they refused to put abec ratings on their bearings. As they predicted, the abec rating system was controlled by people who didn’t know bearings, this system has since been thrown out.

Features: Bones have you covered in all areas, from the lower end reds at $34.95 you can step up into the super reds at $54.95. They use higher quality steel races and a higher tensile steel ball – the extra $20 gets you quite a bit.

From there it’s into the Swiss range and the ceramics. I personally think it all gets a bit nuts when you get into the top end range, but it’s nice to know that these guys have put the time and have the tech to create a $199.99 bearing for the downhill freaks. Bones have been putting out world-class bearings for nearly 30 years and they know what they are doing.

Pros:

  • Durable
  • Bones have been at the top of their game for the last 30 years.

Cons:

  • There’s nothing wrong with these!
