“The best booties I’ve ever had”
The Billabong Furnace Comp Booties are 2mm with a soft neoprene sole rather than the usual hard rubber sole found on most winter booties. Despite being relatively thin, they are easily warm enough for Newcastle/Central Coast winters due to the quick dry carbon lining throughout the boot and liquid taped sealed seams across the whole exterior. I got away with using them in Iceland where the water was 9°C, so even the coldest days at home are no problem.
This soft sole is definitely what makes the Furnace Comps so good to surf in; I find with most booties the thick rubber means that you lose the feel of your board which can make surfing awkward but with these I barely noticed I have them on (except for how warm my feet are).
Feetures: (haha see what I did there)
- 2mm Neoprene
- Furnace Carbon lining throughout the interior
- Drymax water tight cuff
- Vulconized sole with split toe
